East Island Adult Day Care - Alameda

East Island Adult Day Care Service offers a social adult day care program where seniors can find a safe, comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. The program is designed to support seniors age 60 and older in maintaining their independence, health, and wellbeing and providing respite for their family caregivers, so they can work, rest or take care of personal responsibilities.

Our staff care for persons with memory loss due to dementia or stroke-related disabilities and assist those who need help with toileting, eating, mobility and medication management. Program activities include music and sing-a-longs, bingo, table games, reminiscence therapy, walking and range of motion exercises, and guest entertainment.

We are open seven days a week, and individuals can choose a schedule that meets their own needs. Our hourly fee is low, and rates start at $20 per day. We also offer drop-in care, including on the weekends, for those who are already enrolled in our program. Attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch or enjoy one prepared for them for a minimal fee. We can arrange transportation with Paratransit for those who desire it.

Because the East Island Adult Day Care Service is offered in the East Island Senior Residence, which is a six-bed Board and Care facility, day care participants who would like a respite stay are accepted on a space available basis.
