Information & Referrals

When it comes to adult day programs, one size definitely does NOT fit all! The programs in Alameda County hold any of three licenses based upon different levels of care; they accept radically different payment options; they vary in eligibility requirements and the ability to provide services for those with incontinence or dementia or who use wheelchairs.

Fortunately, you don't have to be an expert in adult day services to make a careful recommendation to each of your clients. The Adult Day Services Network provides careful, personalized referrals to all of the adult day programs in Alameda County.

Call the Network to speak to someone who has visited every center, knows their staff and can discuss their specialties. Whether you are planning to recommend adult day services for a member of your family or one of your clients, we can help. Together we will identify key issues and insure that adult day services will meet your expectations, then discuss next steps. Network staff will make a recommendation about programs which best suit your needs.

What all programs have in common is the goal of improving quality of life through preventing premature institutionalization.

In addition, they are all non-profits with access to subsidy and/or scholarship funds, so please don't delay learning about this option, even if you're in a difficult financial situation right now.

The following program comparison charts may help you with referrals. You will need Adobe Acrobat to read them. You can download Adobe PDF Reader here.
